We are looking for an Structural Engineer (m/f/d) Seismic to assist tender and execution projects for the energy business of our client at their Erlangen location as soon as possible. The position is available within a 40-hour workweek.
Your new field of activity:
- Support for the Seismic Team in Erlangen as well as team members internationally, handling complex tasks for global projects and bids independently
- Contribution to tender projects, including customer negotiations and definition of guarantees to meet customer and legal requirements
- Advisory role in execution projects, ensuring compliance with seismic requirements for electrical components and supports, including negotiations and technical clarifications with internal and external suppliers
- Verification of seismic withstand capabilities for electrical and electro-mechanical equipment, with the development of retrofitting concepts, seismic protection measures, or base isolation systems when required
- Performance and verification of static and dynamic calculations using the Finite Element Method (FEM) with SAP2000 (CSI Berkeley) or ANSYS
- Preparation and review of seismic qualification reports in accordance with international standards such as IEEE693, IEEE1527, ASCE113, IEC62271, or country-specific regulations
- Support in shake table testing of electrical components or systems, including test execution and witnessing, following IEEE693 standards
- Collaboration in national and international projects within a small expert team, ensuring effective communication and teamwork in a diverse and harmonious working environment
Your qualifications:
- You have successfully completed a Master’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
- You have at least three years of professional experience in seismic design or qualification of installations in the power generation, power transmission, or a comparable industry
- You have profound expertise in device qualification using Finite Element Method (FEM)
- You are experienced in applying Modal Response Spectra Analysis and/or linear and nonlinear Time History Analysis
- You demonstrate strong teamwork skills, excellent analytical abilities, and good IT knowledge
- You have fluency in English, both written and spoken, and are confident in business, contractual, and technical discussions
- You have fluent German language skills (minimum B2/C1 level) and are willing to further improve your German proficiency
